    Cross River State chapter executives of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), led by the state chairman, Pst. (Prof) Kyrian Ojong paid a courtsey visit to Mr. Efiok Cobham, Former Deputy Governor of Cross River State.

    Efiok Cobham with PFN Members

    Pastor Ojong congratulated Mr Efiok Cobham on his interest in becoming the number one citizen of the state come 2023, as he had the wisdom and capacity to lead the state to enviable heights. “when the righteous rule, the people rejoice” – he said

    Furthermore, he also informed the former Deputy Governor of the State about the changes in leadership of the National PFN with Bishop Wale Oke as the new National leader. He notified Mr Efiok Cobham of the National PFN leader’s scheduled visit to the state slated for next month to hold a 2-day program tagged “Greater Nigeria Project Campaign” which will be hosted by the State chapter of the body.

    More so, he hinted the former Deputy Governor of the planned presence of some prominent men of God who are expected to grace the event in anticipation for God’s hands to abide in the state making for a good and conducive political environment in the state.

    However, Mr Efiok Cobham in his response, welcomed the PFN team and congratulated the leader of the team on his recent academic accomplishment as a Professor. He expressed his heartfelt joy on their visit and their planned prayer program for the state, and went further to take them on a journey highlighting the major ills we face as a state and a people. These ills included;

    • Decay in governance (value system) and
    • Lack of the role of the church in governance

    He further stated that in Argentina, just for the price of bread to be increased, the leadership’s proactiveness towards good governance was questioned by the populace.

    While it may not be an easy task as it wont be a walk in the park to right all the wrongs, by the grace of God we will put things right and reposition the state to take her original form for her citizenry making her ‘A SAFE HAVEN’ for all.

    He submitted that he owed a huge debt of gratitude to God for the opportunity to serve as that’s the greatest opportunity any man can have; service to your people. This has informed hus decision to put Cross River First in all his dealings.

    Mr Cobham prayed for tons of grace upon whoever will emerge as the next governor of our dear state come 2023 as he stated that “Religion is dynamic”. He solemnly adviced the men of God not to use the pulpit to disintegrate, disorganize or mislead the masses but rather enjoin them to use it in drawing the people closer to God while pointing them to good leaders.

    Overall, prayers were made and assurances given by the PFN in support of Mr Efiok Cobham’s gubernatorial bid for the Cross River State government house come 2023.
