The 2026 Roland Garros women’s singles final will feature an unexpected but exciting showdown between Poland’s Maja Chwalińska and Russia’s Mirra Andreeva.

The two players booked their places in the championship match after impressive semifinal victories in Paris, setting up a first-ever Grand Slam final appearance for both women.

Chwalińska produced one of the biggest stories of the tournament by defeating Diana Shnaider 7-6(4), 6-4 in the semifinals.

The 24-year-old entered the tournament through qualifying and became the first qualifier in the Open Era to reach a Roland Garros women’s final.

Ranked No. 114 in the world before the tournament, her remarkable run has made her one of the surprise stars of the 2026 French Open.

On the other side of the draw, 19-year-old Andreeva delivered a dominant performance against Marta Kostyuk, winning 6-1, 6-3 to secure her maiden Grand Slam final appearance.

The eighth seed displayed exceptional focus and composure throughout the match, becoming the youngest woman to reach a major final since 2022.

The final represents a clash between two very different journeys.

Chwalińska has battled through nine matches in Paris, including the qualifying rounds, while Andreeva has justified her status as one of the sport’s brightest young talents.

Their meeting guarantees a first-time Roland Garros champion and a first Grand Slam title for either player.
