A Cross River State-born United States (US) Naval officer, Daniel Owan Ofuka, has shown how great Nigerians can be and how they can excel when given an opportunity.
Daniel Ofuka was on Friday, January 29, 2021, elevated to a United States of America Naval Commissioned Officer.
Ofuka who joined the US Navy 8 years ago; has joined the league of a selected few African Immigrants ever to rise to become Commissioned Officers in the United States Military.
Mr Princewill Odidi, Ofuka’s in-law and Cross River born US-based economic expert said the Naval officer deserves commendations for this great feat.
Odidi while celebrating Ofuka on Facebook wrote thus;
“Congratulations to Daniel Owan Ofuka my in-law. Barely five years since he joined the United States Navy, he has been elevated today to the United States Naval Commissioned Officer.
“He has joined the league of a select few of African Immigrants ever to rise to become Commissioned Officers in the United States Military. In the current Class, he is the only African who made this current Class. It is a feat that deserves commendation. Congratulations Wani”.
Daniel Ofuka hails from Ikom local government area of Cross River State, South-South Nigeria.
Daniel Ofuka obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), Imo State, from 2001 – 2006.
However, from 2016 – 2017, Daniel Ofuka obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology at the American Military University (AMU), West Virginia, United State.
