    Cross River Primary Healthcare To Begin Measles Vaccination Campaign In October

    Cross River State Primary Healthcare to begin measles vaccination campaign across the state this October.

    The Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and partners has rescheduled the statewide integrated measles campaigns earlier announced to commence on Saturday, September 21, 2024 over Sunday, September 29, 2024.

    The new date according to a release signed by the Commissioner for Information, Dr Erasmus Ekpang, is Saturday, 5th October to Sunday, October 13, 2024.

    Ekpang who advises parents and caregivers to avail themselves of the opportunity of getting their children and wards from day old to 59 months vaccinated during the exercise against measles and other killer diseases, disclosed that the vaccines which also include Human Papilloma Virus vaccine for girls between 9 and 14 years are free, safe and effective.

    He disclosed that the vaccines which are injectible, shall be administered at all Government Hospitals, Health Post and all designated centers including worship centres and schools across the State to ensure successful implementation of the programme.
