    CP Rashid Strengthens Community Policing with Bakor Team in Calabar

    In a bid to enhance grassroots security and foster public trust, Commissioner of Police (CP) Rashid B. Afegbua, psc, mnips, together with the Cross River State Police Management Team, engaged the Bakor Community Policing Management Team at the Command Headquarters in Calabar.

    The meeting, held on 22nd April 2026, focused on advancing intelligence-led and community-driven policing initiatives in line with the agenda of the 23rd Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM. The IGP’s policy emphasizes inclusive, community-led policing as a key strategy for addressing modern security challenges and fostering lasting peace nationwide.

    During the engagement, CP Rashid highlighted the importance of proactive policing and strong police-community partnerships. He commended the Bakor team for their contributions to local security and encouraged members to remain vigilant, law-abiding, and supportive of police efforts by providing timely and credible information.

    In response, the Bakor Community Policing Management Team, led by Sir Nyul Sylvanus, JP, praised the command’s proactive approach and reaffirmed their commitment to collaborating with the police to enhance safety, build trust, and promote peaceful coexistence in their communities.

    The Cross River State Police Command reiterated its dedication to protecting lives and property, pledging continued engagement with stakeholders to create a safer and more secure society.
