The University of Calabar (UNICAL) has announced the opening of its school fees portal to all categories of students, while maintaining restrictions on the registration portal for the 2025/2026 academic session. The decision was disclosed in an official memo from the Office of the Registrar following an Emergency Management Meeting held on April 8, 2026.

According to the memo, management resolved to allow financial payments to proceed while ongoing administrative considerations are addressed. Under the new directive, all students can now access the school fees portal to make payments. However, the registration portal has been opened exclusively to “Batch B” students for the 2025/2026 academic session.

    Official Memo

Returning students will not be able to complete their registration at this time, as the portal remains closed to them until further notice. University authorities urged members of the university community to take note of the development and comply with the guidelines provided.

The memo was signed by the Registrar, Dr. (Mrs.) Chukwuka I. Icha, and copied to principal officers, deans, and heads of departments. The university has not yet announced when registration will be opened to returning students.
