According to the organisers, this year’s theme, “Pen and Podium: Information as a Tool for Liberation,” underscores the importance of effective communication, journalism, and public discourse in driving societal change and student engagement.

Speaking on the forthcoming event, Comr. Alex Ogbdun, SUG Director of Information, noted that the programme is designed to empower students with the necessary tools to effectively utilize information as an instrument for advocacy and transformation.
Information Week is expected to feature a range of activities, including media-oriented discussions, student interactions, and knowledge-sharing sessions aimed at equipping participants with practical communication skills.
The initiative forms part of ongoing student-driven programmes within the university, which regularly hosts academic and extracurricular events designed to foster engagement and intellectual development among students.
