    UNICAL Releases List of First Class Graduates for 2024/2025 Session

    The University of Calabar has released the official list of First Class graduates for the 2024/2025 academic session, showcasing outstanding academic achievements across various faculties and departments.

    According to the list, Offiong, Bassey Edet from Business Education emerged with the highest CGPA of 4.77, followed closely by Obotidem, Linus Bernard of Modern Languages and Translation Studies and Okpodighieno-Obong, Iyakakwa of Mechanical Engineering, both with a CGPA of 4.75.

    Other notable graduates include Abakum, Raphael Patrick (Public Health) with 4.69, Oramlor, Aniodiogo (Educational Management) with 4.66, and Alims, Blessing Iripia (Political Science) who recorded 4.65. Ekere, Charles Apey from Accounting secured 4.62, while Ayegbo, Ruth Mobolaji of Genetics and Biotechnology earned 4.61.

    Also on the list are Sagbo, Confidence Dennis (Zoology and Environmental Biology) with 4.59 and Akpoiroro, Victory Oghenekparabo from the Faculty of Law with 4.58. Several Law graduates also made the First Class category, including Ututu, Mukiet Godwin, Okplewu, Ignatius Ogabor, and Raphael, Joy David.

    Mass Communication recorded multiple First Class graduates such as Essien, Oku-Abasi Peter, Eneji, Wisdom Chinecherem, and Isong, Ima-Abasi Itong. The Accounting department also featured Aya, Sharon Ebijor, while Onyemada, Thanigod represented Educational Management.

    From the sciences and education disciplines, Oboche, Fabian Egana (Biology Education), Igbonanugo, Chukwunurakwua Emmanuel (Economics), and Agbor, Michael (Genetics and Biotechnology) were also listed. Additional names include Ofoke, Nnamdi Cletus (Biology Education), Chukwuma, Blessing Nneka (Agricultural Economics), and Onwocheri, Emmanuella Isioma (Nursing Science).

    Rounding off the list are Kalu, Ndubuisi Samuel (Fisheries and Aquaculture), Obot, Benita (Public Health), and Nta, Okon Theophilus (Fine and Applied Arts), all with CGPAs of 4.50.

    The release highlights the academic excellence of students across faculties including Arts and Humanities, Law, Biological Sciences, Social Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Agriculture, Education, and Allied Medical Sciences.

    The First Class graduates are expected to be honoured during the university’s forthcoming convocation ceremony.
