The Office of the Executive President of the Students’ Union Government (SUG), University of Calabar, has officially announced the constitution of a seven-member committee to plan and coordinate the forthcoming SUG Award Night.
The announcement, dated April 17, 2026, disclosed that the committee was carefully selected to ensure effective planning, organization, and successful execution of the anticipated event.

According to the release, Sen. Joseph Osuagwu has been appointed as Chairman of the committee, with Magdalene Abimbola serving as Vice Chairman and Daniel Antigha as Secretary. Other members of the committee include Ojong Collins, Preye Victory, Hope Osim, and Abigal Cletus.

The committee has been tasked with several responsibilities, including organizing the Award Night, recommending award categories and selection criteria, ensuring adequate publicity and student engagement, and submitting periodic progress reports to the Office of the SUG President.
The statement further noted that the committee is expected to commence work immediately and submit a preliminary report within one week from the date of the memo.
All appointed members have been urged to approach the assignment with seriousness and commitment.
The memo was signed by the SUG President, Sen. Obo Emmanuel, reaffirming the administration’s dedication to delivering a successful and impactful Award Night event.
