Manchester City Women have been crowned champions of the 2025/2026 Women’s Super League after closest challengers Arsenal Women dropped points in a 1-1 draw against Brighton.
The result confirmed City as league winners with games still remaining, ending the club’s 10-year wait for another WSL crown.
The title triumph marks Manchester City’s first WSL success since the 2016 season and also ends Chelsea’s six-year dominance in English women’s football.
Under new manager Andrée Jeglertz, City produced a remarkable campaign built on consistency, strong attacking football, and an impressive winning streak.
City’s success was driven by several standout performers, including prolific striker Khadija Shaw, who scored 19 league goals, alongside key contributions from Lauren Hemp, Vivianne Miedema, and captain Alex Greenwood.
Their attacking strength and squad depth helped City maintain momentum throughout the season.
Manager Jeglertz praised the unity and determination of his players after sealing the title, describing the squad as “a joy to coach.”
The Swedish tactician, who only arrived at the club this season, became one of the few managers to win the WSL title in their debut campaign.
Manchester City will now turn attention to finishing the season strongly and preparing for next season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League campaign.
The triumph has been celebrated widely by fans and the club, with City also releasing special commemorative champions merchandise following confirmation of the title victory.
