FC Barcelona Femení finally ended the dominance of Olympique Lyonnais Féminin in European women’s football after a commanding 4-0 victory in the UEFA Women’s Champions League final in Oslo.

The Spanish side produced a brilliant second-half display to secure their fourth European crown and firmly establish themselves as the new queens of Europe.

The match at Ullevaal Stadium started with Lyon looking the stronger side, even having an early goal ruled out for offside after a VAR review.

Barcelona struggled to settle in the opening half as the French giants pressed for an advantage, but the game changed completely after the break when Barcelona’s attacking quality came alive.

Polish striker Ewa Pajor was the star of the night, scoring twice in the second half to put Barcelona firmly in control.

Pajor, who had lost five previous Champions League finals, finally claimed her first winners’ medal in emphatic fashion.

Substitute Salma Paralluelo added two late goals to complete the rout, while hometown hero Caroline Graham Hansen celebrated lifting the trophy in front of fans in her native Norway.

Barcelona’s famous possession-based style overwhelmed Lyon in the closing stages as the French side failed to respond.

The victory marks another major milestone for Barcelona, who have now won four Women’s Champions League titles and continue their rise as Europe’s dominant force in the women’s game.

For Lyon, record eight-time champions, the heavy defeat signals the end of an era and the beginning of a rebuilding phase after years of continental supremacy.
