    UNFPR Donate Health Equipment To Cross River State Hospitals

    The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), through the Cross River State Ministry of International Development Cooperation, has supported some Health Facilities in with Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs) to tackle the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Dr Inyang Asibong, Commissioner for International Development Cooperation (MIDC), while presenting the items to Dr Betta Edu, Commissioner for Health at the General Hospital, Calabar, weekend said: “the PPEs are to support Health Workers who are at the forefront of the fight against the dreaded infection and to improve the safety of individuals who are actively working and responding to the COVID-19 pandemic in hospitals”.

    Receiving the PPEs, Edu who also the Chairman of the State COVID-19 Taskforce Committee thanked the UNFPA for their continuous support.

    She said that the State Government, led by Governor Ben Ayade is doing everything possible to curtail the disease.

    Present during the event were the Dr Janet Ekpenyong, DG, Cross River State Primary Health Care Development Agency; Dr Etcheri Ansa, DG, SACA; Dr Kumar Pranchanc, Medical Director, General Hospital, amongst others.
