Bayern Munich Women held Barcelona Women to a hard-fought 1–1 draw in the first leg of their UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-final, despite finishing the match with 10 players.

Barcelona struck first through Ewa Pajor early in the game, putting the visitors in control and threatening to extend their lead as they created more chances.

Bayern responded strongly in the second half, equalising in the 69th minute through Franziska Kett after sustained pressure.

However, the defender later received a red card for an incident involving a hair pull, leaving the German side to play the closing stages with a numerical disadvantage against one of Europe’s most dominant teams.

Despite being reduced to 10 players, Bayern showed resilience to withstand late Barcelona pressure and secure the draw, keeping the tie finely balanced ahead of the second leg.

The result leaves everything to play for, with both sides still in contention for a place in the final of the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
