Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso has warned his side to expect a strong response from Espérance de Tunis in the second leg of their CAF interclub clash, despite holding an advantage from the first meeting.

Sundowns put themselves in a favourable position with a composed and disciplined performance at home, but Cardoso insists the tie is far from over against such an experienced North African opponent.

The Portuguese tactician acknowledged that Espérance, known for their resilience and strong home form, will likely approach the return leg with greater intensity and attacking intent.

He emphasized the need for his players to remain focused, organised, and mentally prepared for a hostile atmosphere in Tunis, where the home side traditionally performs with confidence and energy in continental competitions.

Cardoso also stressed that Sundowns cannot afford complacency, urging his squad to build on their first-leg performance while improving in key areas.

He highlighted the importance of maintaining defensive solidity and taking chances when they come, noting that managing pressure and controlling key moments will be decisive in securing progression to the next round.
