Inter Miami CF have recently appointed Guillermo Hoyos as their new head coach on an interim basis following a sudden managerial change.
The decision came after former coach Javier Mascherano stepped down from his role in April 2026, citing personal reasons.

Mascherano’s exit marked the end of a highly successful spell in charge, during which he led Inter Miami to their first-ever MLS Cup title and an Eastern Conference triumph.
He also guided the team to a record-breaking attacking season and a historic run to the knockout stages of the FIFA Club World Cup, making his departure a significant moment for the club.
In response, the club turned to Hoyos, who previously worked within Inter Miami’s structure and has a long-standing relationship with superstar Lionel Messi dating back to their time at Barcelona’s youth academy.
Hoyos is expected to oversee the team in the short term as the club evaluates a permanent coaching option, with his appointment aimed at maintaining stability during the ongoing MLS season.
