Chelsea Slump to Worst run in 33 Years after Forest Defeat

Chelsea have now lost six consecutive Premier League matches, a sequence not seen since 1993.

The latest defeat came at Stamford Bridge, where they were outplayed by a rotated Forest side, with Taiwo Awoniyi scoring twice and Igor Jesus adding a penalty.

The loss highlighted major issues in the team, described as ineffective in attack, overrun in midfield and fragile in defence.

Forest struck early and controlled the match, while Chelsea missed key chances, including a penalty by Cole Palmer, before conceding a third goal that effectively ended the contest.

Chelsea only managed a late consolation through João Pedro, which spared them from an even worse record of six straight league defeats without scoring.

Despite that goal, fans voiced frustration, with boos ringing around the stadium as the team’s poor form continued.

The slump leaves Chelsea sliding down the table and in danger of finishing in the bottom half, with European qualification now unlikely.

They are just a few points above mid-table rivals, underlining how far their season has fallen despite heavy spending in recent years.

Overall, the defeat to Forest reflects a broader crisis at the club, with managerial instability, poor performances and a lack of cohesion between players and supporters all contributing to what critics have described as one of the most troubling periods in Chelsea’s modern history.
