Arsenal suffered a stunning 2–1 home defeat to AFC Bournemouth,as a major blow to their title ambitions.

The Gunners, who had been leading the Premier League comfortably, were undone by a disciplined Bournemouth side, with goals from Eli Junior Kroupi and Alex Scott sealing a famous win at the Emirates.

Arsenal’s only response came from a Viktor Gyökeres penalty, but their overall performance lacked the sharpness expected of title contenders.

The defeat has dramatically reopened the title race, handing a significant advantage to Manchester City.

Despite Arsenal still holding a points lead, City now have games in hand and a clear opportunity to close the gap, potentially cutting it to as little as six points.

With a crucial head-to-head clash approaching, the momentum appears to be shifting, and what once looked like Arsenal’s title to lose has now become a fiercely contested race once again.

For Arsenal, the loss raises serious concerns about consistency at a decisive stage of the season. Manager Mikel Arteta described the defeat as a “big punch,” highlighting the psychological impact on his squad.

With pressure mounting and rivals closing in, Arsenal must quickly rediscover form to avoid letting their long-awaited title dream slip away, while Bournemouth’s upset win could prove to be the turning point in the Premier League season.
