Arsenal FC booked their place in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals after a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Sporting CP in the quarter-final second leg at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners progressed 1-0 on aggregate, having secured a narrow first-leg advantage in Lisbon. Despite the importance of the occasion, the return leg lacked attacking quality, with both sides struggling to create clear-cut chances.

Arsenal, in particular, looked short of sharpness in the final third, managing limited efforts on target in a tense and cautious encounter.

Sporting, however, threatened to overturn the deficit at times, coming closest before halftime when Geny Catamo struck the post. The visitors showed resilience and discipline throughout but ultimately lacked the cutting edge required to break down Arsenal’s organised defence.

Mikel Arteta’s side held firm to secure another clean sheet, highlighting their defensive solidity despite an unconvincing overall performance.

The result sees Arsenal reach the Champions League semi-finals for the second consecutive season, where they are set to face Atlético Madrid.

While progression remains a major positive, questions linger over their attacking form as they continue their pursuit of European glory.
