It was a surprising and a shocking explosion in Akure the capital of Ondo State. The explosion hit the state capital as at 1am on Saturday morning.
The blast which occurred in the early hours of Saturday cut off the ever-busy Akure /Owo road while many people were said to be injured but source as confirmed that no death was recorded.
The explosion which happened less than a kilometre to Akure Airport, affected many residents of Eleyowo community, destroying completely a church and a school in the area.
The cause of the explosion is still unaware but investigation is ongoing as we wait for the official report from officials of the Nigeria Police Force(NPF).
